The Alpha course
Alpha is your opportunity to explore the Christian faith in a fun, relaxed setting. The entire course consists of ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, including a day away (if you can make it).
The Alpha program kicks off with the Alpha Banquet, which includes a delicious meal, followed by a talk by Pastor Neil on the topic “Christianity: Boring, Untrue, and Irrelevant?” After listening to this intro session, you can decide if you want to try the rest of the course. Topics for following weeks include:
- Who is Jesus?
- Why did he die?
- How can I be sure of my faith?
- Why and how should I pray?
- How does God guide us?
- What about evil?
Each night there’s a meal (eg. pasta, salad, pie), followed by a talk, followed by a chance to discuss it all with a smaller group. There’s no pressure at all, but there is a lot of interesting stuff to think about.
